The Most Secret Degrees, part 2

Journey with us through degree work that has long been lost – secret ritual that was only revealed when a certain man broke his oath of silence and published the details almost 300 years ago.

Learn of the mysteries of forgotten “high grade” Freemasonry, and the secrets that Brother Masons swore they would die to protect.

Hear the strange passwords, and the chilling stories behind their origins and usage.

Intrigued?

If you’re a Master Mason and would like to take part in a rare opportunity to look into our Craft’s past, then join your Brethren of Dover Lodge on Thursday June 9th 2011 at 8:00pm for our continuing study of a rare collection of Masonic degrees currently only available in a single book published in the 1700s, and only in the French language. These degrees have been painstakingly translated by Dover Lodge and will be presented for your consideration and enlightenment. Come and learn of secrets that even in the book have been concealed as abbreviations, but that have been uncovered by collaborative work between Dover Lodge and the Grand Archivist of the House of the Temple in Washington D.C. .

RSVP is required as we will be serving dinner – please contact the Worshipful Master of Dover Lodge if you wish to attend, or let us know through our contact page.

Clandestine Masonry

It is a sad fact that many have felt the need to create their own supposedly Masonic organizations. It is typically for a variety of reasons, not the least of which are:

        • The desire for fraudulent fiscal gain – ie. to steal money from unsuspecting seekers
        • Disagreement with regularly-constituted Lodges or Grand Lodges
        • The belief in a “better way” or a “truer practice”

It is not our purpose or intent to judge the women and men who are members of such organizations. Indeed the fruits of their labor are the best gauge of their practice. The purpose of a listing of clandestine bodies is to help the Brethren who are members of Lodges chartered by the Grand Lodge of Ohio and the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Ohio to avoid any body which would conflict with their obligation.

Jump over to this page on our web site to view a listing of clandestine bodies in the State of Ohio, and travel safely Brethren!

Did You Hear The One About The Rabbi?

Friends and Brethren, what follows is a video clip that will soon be included in a video from the Scottish Rite Southern Jurisdiction (complete with editor’s prompts). Although its message is heavily geared toward the Scottish Rite, its message applies to the Blue Lodge in equal if not heavier measure.

This is Rabbi Rami Shapiro, and his words are priceless.

This video can be found on the Freemason Network, a Freemason-only educational site sponsored by the Scottish Rite Southern Jurisdiction. The “yud within a triangle” that Rabbi Shapiro refers to is shown in this post on a Scottish Rite 14th degree ring.

Fellowcraft Degree

Friends and Brothers of Dover Lodge, please join us on Thursday May 19th 2011 at 7:30pm sharp as we confer the Fellowcraft degree on a worthy Brother. Officers are required in tuxedos, and the Brethren are asked to dress in suits or jacket and tie.

The lessons of the Fellowcraft Degree are indeed significant and sobering to the mind of the perceptive Mason. Please join us in passing our Brother to this new stage in his Masonic journey.

Road Trip to Washington D.C.

Friends of Dover Lodge, here is a video made by a Brother of the Masonic sights in Washington, D.C. . Several Brethren braved the winter snows to drive to our Nation’s Capital to take a tour of the legacy left by our Brethren over years past. Enjoy the show!
