Hezekiah’s Seal

Recently the discovery of an intact seal belonging to King Hezekiah of Judah has archaeologists and Biblical enthusiasts very excited. This discovery in situ has corroborated the authenticity of what was claimed to be this 8th century BCE king’s own mark used to seal documents. But what has this to do with Freemasonry? On Thursday December 3rd 2015, Dover Lodge will hold an education program describing the timeframe and relevance of this remarkable find to our Craft. Contemplation of this archaeological discovery should cause all Master Masons deep reflection, and compel them to action in today’s society. See you there Brethren!

Multitasking

At a recent education session at Dover Lodge, we discussed the concept of multitasking. It is a presumed fact that in the workplace, as well as in the home, every person must be capable of multitasking to juggle their various responsibilities. We are fortunate indeed to have the benefit of smartphones and computers to help us carry out the multitudes of tasks required of us each day. This is particularly true of Freemasons, as we happily take on the responsibilities of Our Craft in addition to our professional and family lives.

LCBLA Outdoor Raising!

Announcing the return of the Lorain County Outdoor Raising! This event is being hosted by and held at Oberlin Lodge (12354 Leavitt Road (Route 58), Oberlin) on Saturday, September 12, 2015 with the degree work starting promptly at 11:00 AM. Pre-event donuts and coffee will be available starting at 10:00 AM and a “Country Boy” lunch will immediately follow the completion of the MM Lecture and Charge. Attire for the event is casual and we strongly encourage attendees to bring a chair to ensure their comfort. No chairs will be available at the outdoor raising for attendees.

Brother Donald R. Urban

The Brethren of Dover Lodge mourn the passing of Brother Donald R. Urban. Brother Urban, a veteran of the second World War, passed to the Celestial Lodge Above on July 31st. His memorial services were held on August 4th in the Cincinnati area. Our thanks to Funeral Director John Croxton for notifying us of this unfortunate news. Rest well, Brother Urban.
